CSTIST Journal 8

Scenario 1: You are on a train coming home from a day at the beach. The train stops at a station and a group a youths get on the train and start bashing an elderly ethnic man. You notice people getting off the train.

I will confront the youth and tell them about the concequences if they do not listen, i will get help to try and get them to stop attacking this elderly man. I will also try and get people who are walking off the train to get a guilty conscience.

Scenario 2: You get a message from a girl that you are interested asking you to come over her house. When you get there a number of her friends are present and they say they are bored. One of them promotes the idea of going for a walk and causing a riot. At first you tell them “No way”. However, the girl you like states that “she will like you more if you go”.

I will try to talk to her freinds about the concequences which could occur and most importantly i would tell them about the risk they are also taking with their health. If that doesnt work i will try and entertain them in a different way. If nothing else works my final resort will be to just leave and warn the public of the events that could potentially take place.

CSTIST Journal Entry 7

1.) Watch the following clips and describe what is a persons conscience.

Dictionary.com defines a “concience” as the inner sence of what is right and worng and will help you to make the correct decisions in life.

2.) Describe how a persons conscience works in making moral decisions. Explain the relationship between religion and conscience.

A conscience ” comes into play” when making moral descions because we make descions through our concience that is what determines the descions we make to other peoples descions.n A greater conscience a greater level you are on in the moral development theory. Obviously religion has an effect on our conscience because each religion has laws that we must abide by and our conscience will help us make descions depending on our beliefs.

CSTIST project 2 journal 6

1.) Define the term “Moral Maturity”.   Moral maturity is like the theory of moral dvelopment the higher level you are on in the moral development theory the higher moral maturity you have.2.) Read the following article:

http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/knife-arrest-cop-pelted/2008/03/24/1206206967590.html

Discuss the reasons why the 25 year old man mentioned in the article would be regarded as having a lack of ‘moral maturity’.  The 25 year onld man mentioned in this article has a low moral maturity level because he didnt think about the concequence of his actions (injuring an officer and running away). 3.) Identify the differences between ‘morality’ and ‘immorality’.  Morality is having some maturity and some morals which you live by and follow, immorality is the exact opposite you are immature and have little or no moral which you live your life by.4.) Watch the following clip and describe the reasons why Governor Spitzer’s actions would be regarded as ‘immoral’.
The Govenors actions are regarded as immoral because he is a father of 3 girls and is happily married. He was acting at a very basic level of the moral development theory because he didn’t think of the consequences if he  got caught ( which he eventually did) . These actions will be regarded as immoral by anyone let alone a govenor.

4.) Discuss how you would feel if the Australian government banned the Internet. What privileges would you lose?
If the Australian government i would feel very angry because i know there are alternative options like blocking bad sites. There is no reason why they should bann the internet when they can just basically block sites. It is very easy to get a program which blocks bad sites so that the internet can only be used in a good and sensible way.

Some privlidges which i would lose will be the ability of social communication, being able to contact my freinds in a fast and easy way. I will also use the ability to research a wide range and variety of information. If the government is worried about false information being posted it should be the readers job to find out who the author is.
