Fibre Optic technology offers many advantages when used in medical applications.

a. Describe how optical fibre may be used in medical applications

Fibre optic technology is used in many medical instruments. One of the most popular being the otoscope (which is used by a physician to see inside a paitents ear) and one other example being the endoscope (a device which enables a physician to see inside a paitent before they operate on them)

b. Identify the traditional medical techniques that optical fibres may replace

The traditional medical techniques that have been replaced by optical fibres provide an easier and less painful surgical experience for the paitent. For example one such medical technique that has been replaced by optical fibre technology is open heart surgery. By now using a medical instrument that uses optical fibre technology such as the endoscope physicians can now view the organs and vessels before they conduct surgery, as opposed to before this technology was introduced when the physician would have had to make several incisions to the paitent before they could view any organs or vessels.

c. Evaluate the benefits of fibre optic technology to medecine

Fibre optical technology provides many great benefits to medecine and medical instrumentation. By now using optical fibre in medical instruments it replaces traditional medical techniques (such as open heart surgery) which provides a much less daunting surgical experience for both doctor and paitent. Without optical fibre technolgy surgery would be more innacurate and more dangerous.

The media influences my values to my life just like seeing people that are different like different race or religion and when I see them I straight away think of what the media has portrayed them as eg poor bombings, shootings etc and that’s why the media has a big impact on my values to other races and religions.

I don’t because I don’t know much images or values from the bible which is bad for me so i really can’t compare media from the bible in my case.

Has this project challenged you to examine your values? Why / Why not

Yes it has because i’ve just realised the media has a huge affect on my life because they and especially today our think pair share activity with those images we were given and they were something completely different to what us students thought it would be.

They portray it in a negative aspect because whenever there is a social justice issue its always bad and there is never a good social justice interview and the positive impact it has on the community.

Has it been difficult to find articles on social justice issues why/why not?

It’s been easy because our article is Sonny Bill Williams and its a present issue and there’s more articles and more facts given out to use in my groups media watch presentation.
Do you think that the media operates from a moral framework? Give evidence by using your research.

The media never has a moral framework with their articles because if there selling money their happy. A issue would be is Sonny Bill Williams which im researching now for my project the media makes Sonny Bill look like a coward for walking out of the bulldogs and He isn’t turning up to French Rugby training but he probaly has his own reasons for not going and the public gets the wrong veiw of that by thinking hes a coward and he’s just there for the money.

1. How well did your group work? I believe that my gorup worked to their full potential which shows why we were able to complete the task about a week before the alotted time.

2. Would you work with the same group of students again? Why? I would be happy to work with the same group again not only because we are mates, but also becuase we excel in seperate areas.

3. How much effort did you put into this project? What could you have done better? I put in numerous hours outside of school to complete this project. I probably could of preformed my role as a secretary better.

4. Do you think your final wikispace was your best work? Why? Yes i believe that it was my best work because we finished it early which allowed us to spend time reviewing the criteria to add things which we missed out.

5. What did you think of the project when you received it? Why? I was really excited because i am really good at photoshop and some of my mates in my group do art as an elective so i knew we would excel at this project.

6. What do you think of the project now you have completed it? Why? I think that it was definatly harder than i expected it to be

7. What did you like in the project? Why? I liked that we had to do our own original artwork which allowed us to express our creative side.

8. What did you not like in the project? Why? All the individual tasks did not allow us to completely focus on our main task.

9. How can the teachers make your next project better? If we have more time to just focus on the main task we will be able to excel and make our main task better due to more time.

How or Why not? My image of Jesus hasnt changed completely but i have realised that somethings which i thought were true may not be 100% correct. I have also found out that there are a ot of alternate images.

2. What do you feel is the best way to portray an image of Jesus and why? From basically reading passages from the new testament of the bible and finding original scetches and maybe watching movies like the pashion of the christ.

3. What have you enjoyed about the project so far and what would you do differently? I have enjoyed using photoshop and learning new techniques from my mates in my group. I would have more time to complete individual tasks that is 1 aspect which i will change.
